DISKPART pop up question

I am using DISKPART to create a partition, assign a drive letter to it and format it.
A Windows pop up appears telling me I need to format the drive before I can use it.
Is there a way to keep that pop up from appearing?
Thanks.

Re: DISKPART pop up question

It has nothing to do with DISKPART

Windows is detecting the drive when it is plugged in - is it a USB drive?

Re: DISKPART pop up question

Not a removable drive.  It is a hard disk that I create a partition, assign a drive letter to it and format it.

Re: DISKPART pop up question

What kind of drive is it?  When does this message appear and what event triggers it?

Re: DISKPART pop up question

Got it figured out.
I was doing: Create Partition, Assign Drive Letter, Format drive.
The pop up happened immediately after assigning the drive letter.
So I changed the order to: Create Partition, Format drive, Assign drive letter.
That works !

Re: DISKPART pop up question

I have added a short note to the DISKPART page about doing this in the right order.
