I need some help with a windows emulator for DOS

I found something called HX DOS Extender, and I was pretty excited about that. I tried running cmd.exe on it, but it did not work. So does anybody here know of any other text-based windows emulators for MS-DOS, or if they can run CMD.EXE using HX DOS Extender? It would really help.

cmd.exe will only run in Windows.

There is DosBox and you can install MSDOS or FreeDos etc in a Virtualbox virtual machine for each OS.
